2016 Riesling

Beautiful Semi-Dry Riesling crafted from grapes grown on Cayuga, Seneca and Skaneateles Lake.  Tropical aromas of kiwi fruit and mango on the nose, followed by luscious ripe white peaches and pineapples on the palate.

Heart & Hands 2016 Riesling is made from grapes grown by the following vineyards in New York’s Finger Lakes Viticultural Area: 33% Paul’s Legacy Vineyard, Skaneateles Lake; 31% Patrician Verona Vineyard, Cayuga Lake; 19% Nutt Road Vineyard, Seneca Lake, 17% Seneca East Vineyard, Seneca Lake
The vintage began with a mild winter, followed by a late April bud break and early June bloom. Spring and summer were exceptionally hot and dry. Some well-timed rain in September allowed grapes to reach full maturity. The vintage yielded fruit with incredible flavor intensity and produced Rieslings with expressive vibrancy and harmonious balance. Harvested fruit was basket pressed and chilled. Fermentation lasted an average of 62 days at 53° in stainless steel tanks.
Enjoy with crispy fried green tomatoes with basil, cucumber and pimiento cheese, or paella with mussels, slow cooked chicken and chorizo.
