Crafted from grapes grown on 4 Finger Lakes vineyards, with 40% of the fruit from our own limestone-rich Estate Vineyard. Elegant notes of strawberries, currants and chalk on the nose, followed by dark cherries and cocoa on the palate, and a long, satisfying finish with medium tannins.
This elegant wine begins with notes of chalk, strawberries, currants and white pepper on the nose, followed by dark cherries, cocoa powder and umami on the palate, and a long, satisfying finish with medium tannins.
This wine is our classic blend of Pinot Noir, and includes fruit from the following Finger Lakes vineyards:
40% - Heart & Hands Estate Vineyard, Cayuga Lake
25% - Nutt Road Vineyard, Seneca Lake
20% - Elaine's Vineyard, Seneca Lake
15% - Hobbit Hollow Vineyard, Skaneateles Lake
The grapes were hand-picked, and optically sorted. The optical sorter used cameras to evaluate the color and texture of each berry, and selected only those which met our standards. Stems were hand sorted to select those we wished to include in the fermentation. The selected fruit and stems were 50% whole cluster fermented, then basket pressed and gently gravity-flow transferred into barrels for 11 months of aging.
