This limited production dry Riesling was grown on our limestone rich estate vineyard on Cayuga Lake. Hints of chalk and Meyer lemons on the nose, followed by fresh apricots, lychee fruit, and limes on the palate and a crisp, dry finish.

Estate Vineyard
The Heart & Hands Estate vineyard is situated on the Onondaga Limestone Escarpment. Vinifera grapes flourish in the presence of calcareous limestone-based soils, which provide the vines with a solid foundation for growth. This wine is crafted from just 400 vines on our original Estate Vineyard. These Riesling vines are located in the upper block of the vineyard, at 470 feet above sea level. The vineyard is sustainably farmed without the use of any herbicides or insecticides.
The 2020 vintage began with a mild winter and spring on par with regional averages. After a frost scare in early May, the remainder of the growing season was simply flawless. Summer weather was sunny, hot, and dry with low precipitation. This ideal weather continued into Autumn allowing us to pick the Riesling grapes at optimal ripeness and perfect balance.
The Riesling grapes were hand-picked into small picking baskets, then carried to the crush pad. Each of the Riesling clones were picked separately, then blended together during destemming. The grapes were gently basket pressed, then the juice was chilled and settled. The fermentation began with indigenous yeasts and was stopped before complete dryness.
Enjoy with stuffed pork tenderloins with bacon and apple riesling sauce or pan-seared rainbow trout with brown butter caper sauce.
