Aromas of Granny Smith apples and orange blossoms on the nose, followed by a hint of tangerines and a tropical burst of pineapples on the palate, and a long, refreshing finish.
Notes of fresh green Granny Smith apples and orange blossoms on the nose, followed by a hint of tangerines and a tropical burst of pineapples and papayas on the palate. The finish is refreshing, and lingers on the palate, drawing you back to the glass.
Heart & Hands 2019 Dry Riesling is made from grapes grown by the following vineyards in New York’s Finger Lakes Viticultural Area: Seneca East Vineyard Seneca Lake (East) 94%, and Nutt Road Vineyard Seneca Lake (West) 6%. The 2019 vintage began with a mild winter followed by a cool spring, a May bud break and a late June bloom. Summer brought temperatures and precipitation on-par with regional 10-year averages. September was simply spectacular, offering up sunshine, heat, and dry weather and yielding ripeness and beautiful balance in the Riesling grapes.
he Riesling was harvested over the course of eight days in late October after each vineyard achieved optimal ripeness. Harvested fruit from each vineyard was separately basket pressed and chilled. Fermentation lasted an average of 77 days at 54° and some batches were stopped just before total dryness in order to retain varietal character and vibrancy. The wine was then bottled under the Vino-Lok glass closure to preserve the essence of the wine.
Enjoy with grilled shrimp tacos topped with mango salsa or cider glazed ham with apple-onion compote.
