Beautifully balanced semi-dry Riesling which leans towards the drier side. Ripe jonagold apple and lime zest on the nose, pineapples and cara cara oranges on the palate, followed by a long tantalizing finish. This is the first vintage of this wine to feature Estate grown grapes from our limestone rich vineyard, and also includes grapes grown on Seneca Lake.
Hints of passion fruit, ripe jonagold apple, and lime zest on the nose. The lime notes continue on the palate along with luscious fresh pineapples and cara cara oranges, followed by a long, tantalizing finish.
Crafted from grapes grown on our Estate vineyard on Cayuga Lake (33%) and Seneca Lake's Nutt Road Vineyard (42%) and Seneca East Vineyard (25%). This is the first vintage of this wine to feature Estate grown grapes from our limestone rich vineyard.
The 2021 vintage began with a mild winter and was followed by a cool spring, a mid-may bud break, and a mid-June bloom. Early summer temperatures and precipitation were on par with regional averages, but July and August brought heavy rainfall. Fortunately, sunny dry weather in September allowed the Riesling grapes to ripen and develop beautiful balance and character.
Harvested fruit was basket pressed and chilled. Fermentation lasted for an average of 63 days at 53 degrees in stainless steel tanks.
Enjoy with herb crusted pork roast with new potatoes, Cajun Shrimp étoufée or spicy shrimp lettuce wraps.
