Heart & Hands 2018 Riesling is made from grapes grown by the following vineyards in New York’s Finger Lakes Viticultural Area:
78% Patrician Verona Vineyard, Cayuga Lake; 22% Nutt Road Vineyard, Seneca Lake
The vintage began with a mild winter, followed by a cool spring, a mid-May bud break and June bloom. May, June, and most of July were exceptionally hot and dry, while August and early September were warm with abundant rainfall. In mid-September, the warmth continued and drier weather returned allowing the grapes to fully ripen. The vintage yielded fruit with incredible flavor intensity and produced Rieslings with expressive vibrancy and harmonious balance. Harvested fruit was basket pressed and chilled. Fermentation lasted an average of 62 days at 53° in stainless steel tanks.
Enjoy with smoked rainbow trout over wilted greens, roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes, or a creamy carrot and ginger soup.
